Copy of Simulating Population Growth

Ozgur Serdar

About

This is a simplified model of population growth in a country or globally, accounting for the average birth rate.

The diagram is currently configured for the UK, but the key variables can be changed. We recommend experimenting with the Children per Woman and initial population sizes.

The principal conclusion of this and similar models is that two children per woman on average is the critical point at which population neither grows nor declines (assuming no infant mortality).
