What are Machinations Events?

Machinations events are the metric for simulation complexity and are the backbone of the diagram’s resource flow. Also, they are the main metric for quantifying AI builder token consumption.

We implemented the Machinations event tracking to offer a solution for any type of diagram architect. Regardless of whether you are constructing complex models with hundreds of nodes or if you want to keep our canvas clear and minimal, our Events is a fair mechanism to get the maximum value out of simulations in Machinations.

If you are just in the building phase and you are running interactive plays for testing, or if you are ready to answer your questions by predicting the model, the Monthly Event tracker (displayed above the playbar) will update in real-time to view how complex your diagram logic is.

What Actions count as Events?

We made Event classification as straightforward as possible: each time a resource or a value is transferred or updated, an Event is consumed. As such, the following list includes all the possible diagram actions that are counted as events:

Triggered Nodes – This includes Automatic, Enabling and Interactive Nodes as well as external triggers generated by State connections;
Resource transfers – Each resource transfer is made of 3 Machinations events:
- Sending resources: performed by Sources, Converters, Traders;
- Moving the resources: from point A to point B: controlled only by resource connections;
- Receiving resources: performed by Pools, Drains, Gates;
Formula Evaluations & Conditions – This refers to any mathematical formula calculation performed by Register nodes and State connections.

To optimize your Events consumption, it is important to avoid redundant use of nodes on your diagram. To learn more about diagram optimization, check out these pages:

Trigger modes – Make sure your nodes get triggered only when the diagram flow requires it;
How to debug diagrams – It is impossible to get everything right from the first try, but you can minimize the number of changes by identifying areas of improvement;
Use custom variables – Reuse custom variables to reference values multiple times and ensure that your canvas is not filled with duplicated register nodes;

Token consumption on AI Builder

The AI Builder understands your diagram by converting your entire project context into tokens. This input context includes the following information:

Your specific questions and prompts;
The diagram components currently on your canvas;
Any uploaded files;
The chart and simulation data;

The final token total isn’t just about what you provide, it also accounts for the length and complexity of the AI’s generated response.

To keep things transparent and balanced, we have established a fair conversion rate between raw AI tokens and Machinations tokens, ensuring you always have the resources necessary to iterate on your systems.

Please note that when using the AI Builder for predictions, tokens are consumed for both the underlying simulations and the data interpretation provided in the chat.

Event Based Pricing Plans

Our Payment Plans are specially designed after listening to your feedback throughout the years, and we strive to offer our clients the most value based on your project requirements and team needs. Since we understand how important visualisation and diagram construction we dropped component limitations and moved the focus towards an event-based pricing approach.

Events on Collaborative diagrams

To simplify the Event tracking process, we made sure that your Events included in your Subscription are consumed only by your actions, even if you are collaborating live with multiple designers. As such, on a shared diagram, only the account that starts the simulation will consume its event allocation, meaning that each editor is able to manage different scenarios for predictions and interactive plays.

For “View only” diagrams and Community diagrams you are still able to track your Event consumption each time you press Play.

If you are opting for the Pro subscription, which includes the Team Management feature, the Machinations Events limit will be set based on the number of Seats in your team. To streamline the workflow inside a Machination team, we made sure that all members of the team use a shared pool of Events. As a result, team members are empowered to split the included Events as they please without needing to log into a specific account.

Extra Events (Top-Up)

To cover the needs for any type of project, including any number of components used, simulations run, and result accuracy, we offer the option to purchase Top-Up events to add extra simulations to your base plan.

The Extra Events are included in predefined bundles ranging from 50K events to 4M events to make sure that you can select the most suitable option for your usage.

Each Pricing plan includes custom prices per Top-Up event. Pro accounts get their Extra events with a 50% discount compared with the Community plan.

The following is a step-by-step guide for purchasing top-up events:

Click on the “Top-Up” button displayed above the play bar – You can purchase top-up events anytime, regardless of whether your Monthly Events have been depleted or not;
Use the Slider to Select the Extra Event volume – All the possible bundle values are displayed under the Slider;
Check your Total to pay under the Payment Summary;
Select your preferred Payment Method and press Pay Now;
Wait until the Payment is confirmed – This usually takes a maximum of 1 to 2 minutes;
The Top-Up events purchased will be displayed automatically on the playbar

Billing Cycle

Your billing cycle begins when you upgrade your account to paying by opting for one of our payment plans.

There are 2 options are available: monthly and annually.

Your subscription will be automatically renewed unless you cancel it before the beginning of a new billing cycle.

We will be charging your account at the beginning of the billing cycle.

If at any point you want to change your billing cycle, you can do so in Profile Picture > Settings > Billing History

Annual subscriptions come with 17% off.

Cancel Subscription

When you cancel your subscription it will stop by default at the end of the billing period. You do, however, get the option of canceling your subscription immediately.

When to choose “Cancel Immediately”

Canceling immediately does not refund the remaining balance, instead, you’ll get pro rata credits that can be used for future subscriptions.

Cancel your Studio subscription
Buy Indie account – if you canceled your previous subscription before the end of your billing cycle the prorated remaining amount will be subtracted from your new subscription.

↯ Want to join a team, but you are already part of a different one – canceling your subscription immediately will allow you to join another team. If you cancel before the end of your billing cycle the prorated remaining amount will be added as credit to your account. On your next purchase, that credit will be subtracted from your invoice.

Pro Rata

When canceling your subscription before the end of a billing cycle and opt for canceling immediately, you will receive credits for the prorated subscription cost.

Here’s how we calculate this:

Amount Prepaid [AP] – monthly/yearly subscription paid for the current billing cycle Total Days [TD] – the total number of days in the current billing cycle Days Lapsed [DL] – how many days have elapsed from the beginning of the billing cycle

Prorated Credits = AP - AP/TD*DL
